In the Autumn of 1971, head of ABC Entertainment Martin Starger greenlit a show from Scottish television-writer and showrunner Bill Craig with the intention of creating an "East Coast Brady Bunch." The show notoriously flopped, but left behind an ornate (and sometimes strange) legacy of failed television.
